Vendors will send an email indicating a title is out of print  and asking if we want to initiate an OP (out of print) search. We say 'yes'.

In Alma -

1. make a note in the POL that an op search was ok'd. 
2. Reduce price to 0.01.

Once an out of print item has been located, the vendor will e-mail to see if the item is still wanted.

1. If it's $100 or under it is ok to approve the shipment.
2. Otherwise, check funds, and ask subject selector and copy Acquisitions Librarian before proceeding.

Once a year, request lists of outstanding OP searches with each vendor. Right now, there are only three vendors who perform active OP searches on our behalf:

1. Amalivre
2. Casalini
3. Erasmus

We send domestic OP searches to Geoffrey Hill at Compact Disc/AV Source. However, Compact Disc does not maintain a running list of OP searches. If the item cannot be sourced in a timely manner, both Compact Disc and we close out the order.
