The following information has been adapted from the Classification and Shelflisting Manual: G150 - Translations/Texts in Parallel Languages.

1. Use the Translation Table when classifying a translation only when the preferred title (i.e., uniform title) plus language(s) are in the record.
   • Do not use for entries with a corporate or conference heading, for serials, or for autobiographies or correspondence.
2. The translation should be assigned the same call number as the original work, modified by the application of the Translation Table.
3. If a work contains the original text and a single translation, Cutter for the language of the translation.
4. If a work contains translations in two or more languages, assign the Cutter for Polyglot (.x12) from the Translation Table.
5. When the caption By language, A-Z appears in the schedule, do not use the Translation Table, but instead Cutter for the language itself.
6. If two translations in the same language are published in the same year, add a work letter to the date of the second item.
