With approximately 1, 000,000 documents available the Serbian Digital Library is an amazing repository for anyone interested in the literature of the region. Not only are there books and rare books, manuscripts, images, journals and periodicals are available here.  It is well worth a look for anyone interested in the culture and/or language of the region.

 

Antologija

The Anthology of Serbian Literature Project contains over 130 works: a wide array of folk and classic literary anthologies.  The pages can be searched in English or Serbian.  There are indexes of authors, titles and time periods.  The anthologies can be downloaded or opened to your desktop.  The website is sponsored by the University of Belgrade.

 

Serbian Historic Newspapers

The Digital National Library of Serbia contains provides digital open access to digitized materials including historic newspapers, handwritten manuscript periodicals, and more recent newspapers spanning the 20th century. The National Library of Serbia presents these resources with the public national good in mind, following the principles of open access to knowledge and information.

 

The University Library of Svetozar Markovic in Belgrade offers a searchable database of digitized Historical newspapers with the help of the Europeana Newspapers content. This website offers of 20 titles to browse from.
