There are some features of MarcEdit which allow users to harvest records using OAI-PMH and query databases within MarcEdit using z39.50. Each of these applications will be discussed in this section in their own subsection, but were gathered here in the interest of clarity. There are also tools for working with linked data whereby existing records could have URIs linking to authority records maintained by the Library of Congress or OCLC. Because this is a relatively narrow and unique function, it has been grouped into record harvesting but has its own section in the guide.
