Acquisitions for selectors

Open Access Initiatives and Activities

ACS typically does not "acquire" open access resources, meaning we do not catalog or manage catalog records for open access resources.

We will select Community Zone records for open access resources, which will make OA titles findable in Primo and include them in our journals a-z list and link resolver.

CARLI selects, catalogs and manages records for OA resources on behalf of the consortium, and these records appear in Primo at the U of I as they do for all CARLI libraries. These resources will include the phrase "managed by CARLI" in the links for them. Because of how Alma works, we cannot edit these resources or links locally, so if there are problems with any of them we have to open a ticket with CARLI by emailing support@carli.illinois.edu.

You may also see older free or open access resources in our catalog that were migrated from Voyager. Please report problems with these records to ertech@library.illinois.edu so we can fix them.
