About electronic resources acquisitions

Electronic resources encompass a wide range of content types, but most fall into these four categories:

  • Databases
  • EJournals
  • EBooks
  • Streaming media

Any resource that requires a new signed license will take months to acquire, but we already have agreements with most vendors. We acquire electronic resources directly as well as through agents (EBSCO and Harrassowitz) and consortia (BTAA and CARLI); sometimes resources from the same vendor will be acquired through different means. For example, we purchase EBSCO databases through CARLI, through BTAA, and directly from EBSCO.
