Acquisitions for selectors

How to use this guide

This guide is intended to provide an overview and access point for subject specialists to collection development-related services and programs offered by the University Library. The guide will provide you with general information about some of these programs. In general, they are broken down into two categories - resource areas (e.g., e-resources, media...) and planning-related (Funds & Fund Management and Budgets & Fiscal Year Cycle).

Who We Are

Acquisitions, including Electronic Resources, manages the work to acquire, pay for and, with Cataloging Services support, make available new material for the Library collections. The unit maintains all recurring resources with annual renewals, serial cancellations and activation checks. Staff provide support for the subject selectors and offer training, fund review, vendor updates and orientation sessions. Acquisitions works with the Library Business Office and Office of Collections to end the fiscal year and create the new FY ledger.
