Scholia was a twenty-year journal series that was published at the University of Otago (2001-2011) and the University of Natal (1992-2000). The series featured critical and pedagogical articles on a diverse range of subjects dealing with classical antiquity, including late antique, medieval, Renaissance and early modern studies related to the classical tradition. It also included review articles, reviews and other sections dealing with classics.

Speculum is the oldest U.S. journal devoted exclusively to the Middle Ages. The chronological boundaries of the medieval period are defined as approximately A.D. 500-1500. The primary geographic focus of the journal is on Western Europe, but Byzantine, Hebrew, Arabic, and Slavic studies are also included. There are no restrictions as to subject matter: the journal publishes articles and book reviews on any and all aspects of the Middle Ages, including art, history, literature, philosophy and theology, music, science, law, and economics. All scholarly methodologies and approaches are welcome.

Founded in 1951 by Giovanni Pugliese Carratelli, Studi Classici e Orientali (Classical and Oriental Studies) was born as the journal of the Institute of Ancient History at Pisa University. Soon after, it became the reference publication for the Institutes of Archaeology, Classical Philology, and European Linguistics. The journal is characterized by its multifold interests and by its aperture to the study of numerous aspects related to the ancient world, in both Graeco-Roman and Oriental spheres. Contributions concern philology, literature, linguistics, archaeology, political, social, economic and religious history, history of law, cultural history, history of Science, and other branches of historical research.

SLA aims to publish scholarship on a wide range of topics pertaining to the world of Late Antiquity (150 – 750 CE). A defining focus of the journal is fostering multi- and interdisciplinary research that emphasizes the interconnectedness of the Mediterranean with other parts of the late ancient world.

Syllecta Classica is an annual publication of the Department of Classics at the University of Iowa. We specialize in publishing long, substantial articles on Classical Greek and Roman literature, history, and culture, including their modern reception. We have excellent facilities for reproducing maps, plans, and illustrations. Refereeing is double-blind, and every effort is made to reach a decision on a submission within two months.

Started in 1922, it is dedicated to the publication of all scientific work relating to ancient Middle Eastern archaeology, history, and art history, from prehistorical time to the advent of Islam. Syria is published by the Institut français du Proche-Orient (IFPO Beirut-Damas-Amman), a French research institution of the ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and of the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS).
