Electronic resources for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies are constantly evolving. This guide highlights 13 databases that serve as excellent starting points for research and are widely used by the Slavic Reference Service. While they vary in scope, coverage, and format, these databases are all major tools in their fields, contain English citations and/or full along with substantial regional language content, and are accessible through the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Library’s database subscriptions.

Please note that the databases covered in this guide are not comprehensive resources for both English and Slavic, East European, and Eurasian language sources. Apart from INION (a comprehensive resource for Russian publications), these databases are created and maintained in Western Europe and the United States. They are good starting points, especially for English-language research, but should be supplemented with sources from the regions being studied.  Consult our guide to Vernacular Language Resources to find regional-language materials.
