Woodwind Resource Guide

The National Flute Association is the largest flute organization in the world, having been founded in 1972 with the purpose of encouraging a a higher standard of artistic excellence for the flute, its performers, and its literature. Members of the organization include leading soloists, orchestral players, jazz and world music performers, teachers, adult amateurs, and students of all ages. The organization has a flagship member publication called The Flutist Quarterly, which provides information and articles about the performance, study, history, manufacture, and enjoyment of flutes, flutists, and flute music.

The International Double Reed Society is a member-based organization meant to encourage the performance, composition, and arrangement of music for the double reed and act as a resource for performers, teachers, and students of all levels of ability to attain a high standard for the double reed. The website for this organization includes resources for paid members such as fingering charts and passages, bibliographies, dissertations, and theses.

The International Clarinet Association is a professional organization dedicated to fostering communication and fellowship between clarinetists and clarinet enthusiasts by supporting various projects related to clarinet music and providing opportunities for the exchange of ideas, materials, and information among its members. The organization publishes a quarterly scholarly journal called The Clarinet, produces the annual clarinet festival ClarinetFest, and supports a research library with materials available to all paid members.

The North American Saxophone Alliance is a non-profit organization founded in 1976 whose members include professional performers, university professors, public school teachers, students of all levels, and others who have an interest in the saxophone. In addition to the Alliance's emphasis on disseminating information concerning the saxophone, the organization also works to provide opportunities for its members to make music, fostering fellowship among saxophone enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds.
