Staying Well at Home Library Challenge

Library Staying Well at Home ChallengeThe Library and the Wellness Committee are pleased to bring you the 2020 Staying Well at Home Library Challenge!

Starting Monday, April 6 through Sunday, May 3, you have the opportunity to participate in the Staying Well at Home Library Challenge.

Due to current events, the annual Library Walking Challenge is being modified to encourage participants to engage in healthy activities while being safe at home.

Rules and Procedures

  1. Register as an individual by e-mail to  Walk@Library.illinois.edu  by 5pm on Monday, April 6.  We are encouraging participants to buddy up with a co-worker for accountability and encouragement during the challenge. If you would like to be matched with a buddy please note that on your registration.
  2. Keep track of your wellness activities for each day from April 6 to May 3. Examples of activities and online resources are listed below.  If you would like to share an activity or resource to be added, please email walk@library.illinois.edu.
  3. On Monday morning each week, enter the number of your wellness activities for each day into this form by 5pm Monday. Please try to stay with these deadlines so that we can send out results in a timely manner.
  4. Once we receive all of the numbers for the week, we will send out a list of all of the individuals and number of activities. Try to increase your activities each week!

AT THE END...

At the end of the four weeks, we'll calculate the total average of activities per week over the course of the 4 weeks. The goal is to average 5 activities per week.

Everyone who turns in their wellness activities on time for all four weeks will be eligible for a prize (courtesy of Dean Wilkin) if we meet our Library goal of averaging 5 activities per week per person.  We will have a time set aside in May to hand out our prize.  We can meet our challenge!

Remember...Do this for you! Do this to feel good and to be a better and healthier parent, spouse, friend, and co-worker. These are challenging times and we all need to take care of ourselves.  This challenge is about encouragement and wellness!
