Supporting materials for students in their first year of studying Macedonian

Traditions

"Famous for its rich Shopska salad, an appetizer and side dish which accompanies almost every meal, Macedonian cuisine is also noted for the diversity and quality of its dairy products, wines, and local alcoholic beverages, such as rakija." From http://www.sunray.mk/mac_cuisine.html, accessed April 23, 2011.

Below is a recipe from http://www.360macedonia.com/macedonia/mk/kujnahrana.php?recept_ID=1312 .  However, almost every web site prefaces the recipe with the caveat that everyone has their own version of this recipe.

Seasonal traditions

Decorated Easter Eggs are a long-standing tradition in Eastern Europe and Macedonia is no exception.
