Contemporary Films

Кинотека на Македонија (Cinamatheque of Macedonia) is a great portal to begin your research on contemporary Macedonian film. You can search for specific productions, places of distribution, institutions of film, and even festivals that occur in celebration of Macedonian film. This site also covers the topic of the history of Macedonian film. There is coverage of iconography in Macedonian film and the origins and artistic influences seen in today's films. There is even a page dedicated to the history of Macedonian cinematography: http://www.maccinema.com/Chronology.aspx. From Book to Film

Any number of Macedonian literary works have been turned into movies.  Among the titles  that are now in film are "Black Seed" (Tashko Georgievski), "Red Horse"(Tashko Georgievski), "Waters" (Jovan Strezovski), and "Two Marias" (Slavko Janevski).  Above are scenes from the 1971 film "Црно Семе".  To read more about the film see http://www.maccinema.com/Catalog.aspx?p=53.
