German Studies at UIUC Library

The UIUC Library has traditionally been very strong in German studies. The collections and resources for German studies are spread across many departmental libraries. The bulk of the printed books are in the Main Stacks, accessible on the second floor of the Main Library.

German National Bibliography (Deutsche Nationalbibliografie)
The Deutsche Nationalbibliothek's catalog includes books, journals, maps, atlases, dissertations, and Habilitationsschrifts in print or electronic format that appeared in Germany since 1913, and translations from German and foreign language Germanica since 1941.
Karlsruhe Virtual Catalog
The KVC allows searching of library books around the world including 14 different German catalogs. The catalog is available in German or English.
Gemeinsamer Verbundkatalog - GVB Union Catalog
This catalog covers the collections of the Common Library Network, which includes the libraries of seven German federal states and the Foundation of Prussian Cultural Heritage.
