Browsing the Collection

Begin browsing at call number 492.49. Much of the collection is housed in the Main Stacks and the Literatures and Languages Library.

To browse all Yiddish-language materials in the UIUC Library, regardless of location, use the Library Catalog's Advanced Search, and use the language limits to select "Yiddish."  You can then explore the search results using the limiters listed in the left hand navigation bar, such as "topic," "region," and "genre."

To search for Yiddish-language materials held by other libraries, use WorldCat. Under the language limit, select "show all languages," then select "Yiddish." You must also enter at least one search term. Use the Interlibrary Loan option to borrow materials not held by the University of Illinois.
