In honor of Black History Month, February’s exhibit is in honor of one of the most famous singers, bandleaders, dancers and conductors of the swing era “The Hi-De-Ho Man”: Cab Calloway. Calloway was best known for his energetic scat singing while leading one of the most talented African-American big bands of the era.
This exhibit pays tribute to Calloway’s 65 year career in music (featuring collaborations with other jazz legends) as well as his various roles in stage, film, television and even cartoons.
