What is Data and Digitized Content?
This guide defines data and digitized content as sets of facts, statistics, and/or other research materials that have been collected by another party and disseminated online so they can be reused for further research. This tab focuses on identifying resources where you can find and access pre-existing datasets. Finding Data
- Finding Text Datasets LibGuideThis LibGuide is a comprehensive resource detailing how to find and acquire text data from a variety of resources, including library collections, digitized archives, newspapers, social media sites, and more. Researchers may need to use an API to access text data from certain vendors and publishers. They should check the publishers' documentation to learn more about their specific policies.
- Finding Statistics LibGuideThis guide provides an overview of different resources for finding statistics and numeric data on various topics such as education, government, business, crime, and more.
- Qualitative Data RepositoryThe Qualitative Data Repository (QDR) is an archive for storing and sharing qualitative data. Data files are freely accessible for all users with a QDR account. Please visit their page to learn more about their policies for accessing and reusing datasets.
- Qualitative Data Sharing Project SeriesICPSR maintains a collection of qualitative research datasets as part of the The Qualitative Data Sharing (QDS) Project. Public-use data files are available for access by the general public. Please note that some data files may have special restrictions that are not available for direct download from ICPSR's website.
