Driving a Cleaner Illinois is the Illinois EPA’s grant program developed to distribute funding for various types of mobile source electrification projects. The Driving a Cleaner Illinois Program implements funding from a variety of sources, including the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Diesel Emission Reduction Act (DERA) Program.

The ERC is located in Chicago, Illinois and serves as an interdisciplinary public service, research, and special projects organization with the goals of improving energy efficiency and environmental conditions. The ERC strives to provide technical assistance and project development support within both the public and private sectors. Contractors can apply to become "Trade Allies" to receive updates on relevant guidelines and special sales.

The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Industrial Technologies Office (ITO) provides technical assistance and develops partnerships with industry to upskill workers and promote better energy management practices. The office’s efforts focus specifically on increasing the adoption of energy efficient practices, energy management programs, and water and waste reduction strategies across the industrial sector.

EPA develops and enforces regulations that span many environmental topics, from acid rain reduction to wetlands restoration. Each topic may include related laws and regulations, compliance and enforcement information, and policies and guidance.

EPA’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization advocates and advances the business, regulatory, and environmental compliance concerns of small and socio-economically disadvantaged businesses.

The Small Business Compliance Policy promotes environmental compliance among small businesses (those with 100 or fewer employees) by providing incentives to discover and correct environmental problems. EPA will eliminate or significantly reduce penalties for small businesses that voluntarily discover violations of environmental law and promptly disclose and correct them. This Policy implements section 223 of the Small Business Regulatory Enforcement Fairness Act of 1996.
