  • Library Identification. You must present your i-card to check out materials. In addition, you should familiarize yourself with the identification codes below for access to various library services:
    • Borrower Identification Number - the 14-digit Library # [ 20111 … ] above the bar code on your i-card.
    • NetID and Password - assigned by Campus Technology Services; the NetID and password you use to register for classes. If your Borrower Identification Number is not working, ask a librarian for assistance. If your NetID and Password are not working, go to Technology Services Account Services, Room 1420, Digital Computer Lab, 1304 W. Springfield Ave.
  • The Library Catalog, and I-Share catalog. Use the Library Catalog to locate and request books and journals; review your account; and renew items checked out to you. The I-Share catalog (can be accessed in the Library Catalog) has holdings for the Urbana campus libraries and the Consortium of Academic & Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI) academic libraries throughout Illinois and the Illinois State Library. Items requested via the Library Catalog or I-Share catalog can be sent to your office or to the library of your choice for pickup, and you will be notified by email when they arrive.

NOTE: The Library of the Health Sciences (LHS) is a branch of the UI Chicago Library, and its collection is not in the Urbana Library Catalog. To find materials at LHS, use the UI Chicago catalog, UICCAT.
