The New Graduate Student's Guide to the Chemistry Library: Borrowing Books and Journals

Resources and services offered to graduate students (and others) in the UIUC Chemistry Library.

Borrowing Books and Journals

  • Books - Graduate students may check out books from any Urbana library for 16 weeks. I-Share loans are generally for four weeks, but may vary (e.g., books from the Library of the Health Sciences may be checked out for two weeks). You may have books sent to the Chemistry Library to pick up and return books. Graduate students can also have volumes sent to their offices by using the UIUC Campus Mail option in the catalog.
  • Journals - Please refer to the circulation policies at the website for the library that has materials you are interested in, or contact the librarian for more information.
  • Fines - All patrons are responsible for returning materials on time. Check due dates and renew materials with the Library Catalog. Click on "My Account," and login with the username and password used to create the account.
