Gene Kelly was one of the most beloved entertainers during the golden era of Hollywood movie musicals. Although he is often remembered for his energetic dancing style (which Kelly combined with classical ballet techniques), he was also a celebrated director, singer, choreographer and actor. Kelly’s versatile talents can be seen in such classic musical films such as “For Me and My Gal”, “Anchors Aweigh” and of course, “Singin’ in the Rain”. Kelly received dozens of awards and honors, including the French Legion of Honor for his choreography of the Paris Opéra “Pas de Deux” in 1960.
