This exhibit focuses on the 100th Anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance. In the 1920s, the Great Migration brought a wide variety of African American artistic influences to the Northeastern United States. The nerve center of this cultural explosion was the Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan. The works of notable African American playwrights, musicians, dancers and artists from this era are included in this exhibit.
This exhibit compliments Krannert Center's "Harlem 100—Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance" on November 14th, 2019.
