Course Affordability

This guide is for students seeking options to affordably access course materials.

Assigned Articles

If your instructor has assigned an article to read for class, they likely have included a link in the class canvas page. In case they have not included a link, or that link has broken, follow the steps below to find it in the Library Catalog.

How Can I find an Article for Class?

Finding Assigned Articles

If you have been assigned an article to read for class, always check to see if the library has access! Popular titles like The New York Times, The Atlantic, and more are accessible through the library.

The easiest way to search for these articles is to use the Library Catalog's Journal Search. Follow the steps below to do so:

  1. Start by going to the Library Catalog.
  2. Above the search bar you will see different search options. Select "Journal Search".
  3. Search the publication title of the article you need in the search bar. You may see more than one result with the title you are looking for; check the date and the type of material (for example, newspaper) to make sure it is what you are looking for.
  4. When you have found the correct result, click on the title to open the record and see where the material can be viewed online. The library may have many different databases to access one publication, but any listed will work.
  5. Simply search the title of the article you are looking for in one of the listed databases.
