Interview Details

Dr. K. R. Roberto is a cataloger librarian. They originally grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago. Dr. Roberto originally joined the Rainbow Round Table in 1997 and served as RRT liaison to the ASCLA ALA Assembly. In addition, Dr. Roberto was a member of the Stonewall Book Awards Committee from 2003-2005 and served as the Male Co-Chair of the RT from 2007-2009. They earned a doctor of philosophy from the iSchool at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Their dissertation was titled "Description Is a Drag (and Vice Versa): Classifying Trans Identities''. They are also the editor of Radical Cataloging: Essays at the Front and the author of "Inflexible Bodies: Metadata for Transgender Identities".
