AI in this Course Canvas Module

The library has created an "AI in this Course" module in Canvas commons that may be downloaded and modified by instructors to help create policies that clarify how students may and may not use AI in this course and how the instructor will and will not use AI in the course. The module is made to be adaptable to course context, as specific uses of AI may be more or less reasonable depending on learning outcomes. Many of the default settings assume a humanities and social sciences context, but the allowed and prohibited uses can be easily modified for any context.

To review the module:

  1. Log in to Canvas.
  2. Follow the link for the Commons in the left navigation bar.
  3. Select "AI in This Course: a Module from the University Library" if visible, or search for that title in the search bar, and then click on the module title.
  4. Read "A Note for Instructors" for an explanation of the module's contents and what you will need to do to adapt it for your course.
