Soil and Water Conservation Districts are intended to serve a wide range of interests including soil and water conservation, prevention of soil erosion, prevention of air and water pollution, flood control, maintenance of dams and reservoirs, protection of navigability of waterways, wildlife and forest conservation, and protection of public land.
