Standards Online and In Print

The University Library's standards collection is selected and maintained primarily by the Grainger Engineering Library. Some standards are available online (linked below). Select standards are available in print at Grainger Library, as indicated on the list below. In some cases, standards may be found in library catalogs, but many libraries limit the circulation of standards. For additional information, please see the Grainger Engineering Library's standards page. If you need a standard that is not available at the University of Illinois, please contact your librarian.

NISO (National Information Standards Organization) NISO standards are publicly available. Find published standards as well as standards under development.
OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) Links to all current OSHA standards, provides information on the rulemaking process used to develop workplace health and safety standards, and includes links to all Federal Register notices that are currently open for comment
Standard Methods for the Examination Water and Wastewater Link is to the University Library catalog record; the Standard Methods are not available online at UI. Use the link to access the record and request the desired edition(s).

National Environmental Test Methods Index
A free, web-based, searchable compendium of environmental methods. NEMI is maintained under the direction of the Methods and Data Comparability Board, a partnership of water-quality experts from Federal agencies, States, municipalities, industry, and private organizations.
