Visiting the Library

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is home of one of the largest and richest public research library collections in North America. Our collection includes all sizes and types of books, including everything from rare manuscripts to modern texts. The University Library is committed to sustaining and enhancing its print and online collections.

In-Person Visits

Most departmental libraries are open for you to browse and use the reference collections, current journals and/or newspapers as well as circulating collections. Keep in mind that each departmental library has different hours and regulations, so it is best for any visitor to check with the individual library before visiting.
