Undergraduate Research - Online Theses and Capstone Projects Submission System: Home

This online guide will walk you through the submission of your undergraduate thesis or capstone project to the institutional repository, IDEALS.

We are currently processing undergraduate theses for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences ONLY. If you are a student in another department, please use the process as outlined by your department for 2022.

If you are a student of LAS and you do not want to use the online submission form, please send a copy of your signed Thesis Certification form and your final thesis document in PDF to lashonors@illinois.edu.

PLEASE NOTE: YOUR SUBMISSION WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE TO YOUR UNIT AND FOR PROCESSING PURPOSES, IT WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED ONLINE.

For the May 2022 semester, all undergraduate theses and capstone projects will be collected for processing and archival purposes only.

This means that your document and accompanying metadata (e.g., your name, department, document title, etc.) will only reside in an internal database accessed by your department, your honor's program, and the University Library.

We ask for your permanent contact information so that we can reach you in the future should the situation change.

If you would like to discuss submitting your undergraduate thesis or capstone project to IDEALS this semester, please contact Merinda Hensley at ugresearch@library.illinois.edu and accommodations will be made on an individual basis with agreement from your undergraduate research faculty or supervising mentor and your department.

Follow tabs 1-2 above for more details on preparing your thesis/capstone project for submission.

To officially submit your undergraduate thesis or capstone project, please use the "Theses and Capstone Projects Submission" system.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact Merinda Kaye Hensley, Associate Professor and Digital Scholarship Liaison and Instruction Librarian, ugresearch@library.illinois.edu.
