The Open Notebook
Portal to the Public Network Organizations in the Portal to the Public Network (PoPNet) collaborate with scientists to bring them together with public audiences for meaningful conversations and activities around current science research. Scientists are prepared for these experiences through communication training that is fun, interactive, and relevant. After participating in training workshops, scientists put these skills to use during public engagement opportunities at museums and zoos, in libraries, and even at festivals and farmer’s markets. Participating in ongoing public engagement events is not only rewarding, but is essential for continued practice and improvement of communication skills.
