MPAL Exhibits 2021-2022: George Crumb

Documents exhibits at the Music and Performing Arts Library during the 2021-2022 academic year.

About This Exhibit

February’s exhibit is dedicated to the memory of classical and avant-garde composer George Crumb.

Crumb was primarily known for his unique forms of notation (seen in works such as A Prophecy of Nostradamus and Black Angels) and his use of unconventional, experimental timbres, (heard in his most famous and ambitious composition Makrokosmos).
