Welcome!
In addition to holding over 100,000 reels of microfilmed newspapers, the History, Philosophy, and Newspaper Library also holds the majority of the University Library's general microfilm collection. The term “microform” encompasses microfilm and microfiche (as well as the now obsolete microcard). The HPNL film stacks can be accessed via 246 Main Library.

- Search the Online Catalog (title or keyword search).
- Search the University of Illinois Library Newspaper Database to find newspapers on microfilm. A great tool for searching by place of publication!
