Guidance on using your institutional repositories

Your institutional repositories are a convenient and fee-free option for sharing and preserving your work. Ongoing preservation of files and persistent URLs ensure long-term availability. With your netID and password, you can log into either repository for self-deposit. These guidelines will help you determine which repository is appropriate for content you wish to deposit.

What is it?	Where should I deposit it?
Record of scientific observation (e.g., spreadsheet, instrument output, visual/audio recording of observations) A digital object of scientific analysis (e.g., text or citation corpus on which analysis has been performed, visual or audio recordings of observations) Scripts or code used in data analysis or modeling Supporting data and documentation for a research publication
Conference or workshop paper, poster, or proceeding Video or audio of a presentation (e.g., conference presentation or seminar) A project report White paper An article (if allowed by the rights holder) A thesis or dissertation.

Illinois Data Bank
A public access repository for publishing research data from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Log in with your NetID to deposit data. DOIs are assigned to published datasets. Illinois Data Bank records are shared with Illinois Experts and will be connected with your Illinois Experts profile.
