Contemporary Films
Kino-Kolo.ua has everything relating to film in Ukraine. For those interested in film history there is an encyclopedia of film, every helpful for basic information on Ukrainian films throughout the 20th and into the 21st centuries. The screenplays from a number of short film are available as is a list of new books on film in the region.
Film Festivals
The Kiyv International Film Festival is held annually, between the end of May and the beginning of June. Truly international, the festival draws films from the US, UK, Chile, Turkey Bulgaria and many other countries. The website has a number of videos for anyone interested in the festival, master classes with many of the directors particpating in the festival.
Man with a Camera
Man with a Camera was an experimental silent film directed by Dziga Vertov, and edited by his wife Elizaveta Svilova. Created in 1929, this silent film has been hailed as a masterpiece and is viewable here.
