fonds

Definition   

The entire body of records of an organization, family, or individual that have been created and accumulated as the result of an organic process reflecting the functions of the creator.

inventory

Definition   

n. ~ 1. A list of things. – 2. Description · A finding aid that includes, at a minimum, a list of the series in a collection. – 3. Records management · The process of surveying the records in an office, typically at the series level.

guide

Definition   

n. ~ A broad description of the holdings at one or more archives, typically at the collection level.

Notes

A guide covering several repositories' holdings is often called a repository guide or a interrepository guide. A guide that describes collections relating to a specific subject is often called a subject guide or a thematic guide.
