Summer Research Laboratory Orientation

A guide to the University of Illinois Library for the Summer Research Laboratory on Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia

General Orientation Sessions

Summer Research Laboratory participants can sign up for general orientation sessions.  These sessions will explain how to use the library's resources, placing internal requests for items, online catalogs, printing, and research databases.

Register for an orientation session here.

Specialized Bibliographic Sessions

Apply for an individualized consultation with a Slavic Reference Service staff for a personalized bibliographic session. SRS staff will develop a personalized, project-based program for each individual covering electronic tools and software, print and electronic bibliographic resources and databases, archival sources, vernacular-language search techniques, vernacular keyboard options, and vernacular full-text resources.

Priority will be given to graduate students and junior faculty members.  Please contact the Slavic Reference Service at: srscite@library.illinois.edu

Online Consultation Service

SRL researchers have a new option for their pre-arrival questions.  The Online Consultation Service is open to Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies scholars year-round.  Before arriving on UIUC campus, you can work with the Slavic Reference Service staff to identify relevant materials and sources for your research project.  Use this convenient service by scheduling a session at: https://illinois.edu/fb/sec/9156069.
