Krannert Center Events: 2024-2025 Season

About This Event

Beloved by fans for over four decades, influential alt-rock band 10,000 Maniacs became a mainstay of the indie music scene in the early 1980s. They rose to superstardom in the early 1990s with chart-topping hits including “These Are Days” and “Candy Everybody Wants,” along with their stunning acoustic cover of Patti Smith and Bruce Springsteen’s classic, “Because the Night,” which the band performed on MTV Unplugged. A musical touchstone for many GenX music fans, 10,000 Maniacs has remained dynamic and steadfast through numerous personnel changes, including the exit of iconic lead singer Natalie Merchant in 1993. The band’s live performances include songs from all its eras, and the 10,000 Maniacs sound is as vibrant and complex as ever, the signature blend of glimmering joy and rich melancholy captivating audiences from every generation.
