This guide will go over how to utilize the Python programming language for basic data analysis.


This guide will serve as an introduction to basic forms of data analysis within the Python programming language. In this guide, we will cover how to calculate measures of central tendency (mean, median, and mode), standard deviation, maximum, and minimum from data sets.

Introduction to Python


Python is one of the most popular and most widely used programming languages. It can be used for a wide variety of applications, purposes, and programs. The frameworks and paradigms employed by the language are outside of the scope of this guide, but Python serves as a good introduction to computer programming and data analysis due to its focus on readability and extensive support network. It has many built-in libraries that allow for the user to experiment and discover new ways to apply their coding knowledge.
