Course Description

Course Goals

  • Introduce the sociological imagination and learn how sociologists use this concept to analyze various social issues.
  • Introduce examples of the interaction between structure and agency in shaping individual and group experiences.
  • Introduce examples of various forms of social inequality.
  • To think critically about what may appear to be the familiar or seemingly given aspects of social life.
