CWL/MACS 207: Indian Cinema in Context: Access World Newsbank

A guide to library resources for students enrolled in CWL/MACS 207: Indian Cinema in Context

Quick Tips

In Access World News you can save articles to a folder and then email the entire folder to yourself or export it to a citation manager or Word Processing program.

To save an article, just put a check in the box that appears near the title. Later, you can click on the link at the top of the page that says "Saved Articles" to access any articles you saved.

Once you're in the folder, you can easily create a bibliography by checking the articles you want to include and then clicking "Export Bibliography". For this project, you can just click on the link that says "MLA citations".

A new window will open in your internet browser with your citations in MLA format. You can then copy and paste and bibliography into a word document so you can add your annotations.

Access World News

Access World News allows you to search the entire database, or first narrow your search by location or source type.

The default search page also allows you select a date range for your search, making it easy to find articles within your custom date range.

As with the other databases, you may get better results if you try searching for an actor/actress, movie, or director rather than just searching for "Indian cinema" or Bollywood.

For help using Access World News, ask a librarian or check out their help page.
