World Weather Records
The world's weather by Region and decade compiled and published by various entities including the Smithsonian Institution, U.S. Weather Bureau, and NOAA. Publication began in 1927. Also see the World Weather Records Data Clearinghouse.

A public archive of tree ring data, managed by NCEI's Paleoclimatology Team and the World Data System for Paleoclimatology.

Volunteer transcription of weather data from historic ship logs, including US Naval and Coast Guard ships and whalers.
Paleoclimatology Data
Paleoclimatology data are derived from natural sources such as tree rings, ice cores, corals, and ocean and lake sediments. These proxy climate data extend the archive of weather and climate information hundreds to millions of years. The data include geophysical or biological measurement time series and some reconstructed climate variables such as temperature and precipitation.
