Undocumented and DACA Resources

This guide provides resources aimed at undocumented and DACA recipients of the Champaign-Urbana community.

Why Mental Health Needs to be Talked About

Individuals who are undocumented face difficulties that take a huge toll on their mental health. There is stigma around mental health to make it seem like mental health does not matter or that people don't have time for it with everything else that can be going on in their lives but it is important to take the time and care for your own mental health. Being undocumented means you face higher levels of stress because of the unknowns and uncertainties that comes with being undocumented. The fear, guilt, and other everyday emotions have strong effects on people and they need to be cared for just as much as other health concerns.

UIUC Mental Health Resources

Counseling Center

The Counseling Center is committed to providing a range of services intended to help students develop improved coping skills in order to address emotional, interpersonal, and academic concerns. The Counseling Center provides individual, couples, and group counseling. All of these services are paid for through the health services fee. The Counseling Center offers primarily short-term counseling, but we do provide referrals to the community when students could benefit from longer term services. [Taken from website]
