Case Report "is a means of communicating something new that has been learnt from clinical practice. It could be about an unusual or previously unknown condition, a rare presentation or complication of a known disease, or even a new approach to managing a common condition.
Case reports are the first-line of evidence in the medical literature, and provide medical students and junior doctors with a great opportunity to develop their writing skills. Getting a case report published will certainly look impressive on any CV."

"Case reports and series are a time-honored way to document stories of patients with rare or interesting diseases. Some cases or interactions with patients lead to insights about important elements of care or how pathophysiology plays out in people. However, a case report can also highlight issues related to medical education or professional development. When more than one case is presented to illustrate the issue of interest, it is called a case series. Case reports include the presentation, course, and clinical outcome, in addition to a literature review of the crucial issues related to the case. The literature review helps you convey your thoughts and ideas in the context of what others have written on the topic. Your SP should be structured as if being written for publication in a journal."
