Find environmental fiction at your local library
Environmental issues provide the backdrop for an array of fiction, from suspense to romance to comedy. This bibliography includes books for young adults and adults. Picture books are not included here, although there are links to bibliographies of picture books with environmental themes.
When looking at your local library for fiction with environmental themes, some of the following subject headings may be helpful:

Blueberry AwardsThe Blueberry List, which features books primarily for children ages three to ten, is divided into one overall winner and 34 additional Honor and Changemaker books. Changemaker books recognized for their outstanding achievement in rallying kids to climate action. The Evanston (IL) Public Library created the Blueberry Award in 2021 to fill a nationwide vacuum: no other children’s literature awards exclusively celebrate the best nature books that promote climate stewardship.
