This guide is designed to provide guidance and links to library resources for the GEOG 104 assignment, mapping data at the county level in Illinois and writing a paper describing the spatial distribution and its causes.

By the end of our first meeting on November 13, you should be able to: 

• Identify county level data for a topic of interest using Social Explorer and data.census.gov 
• Create a table of county level data using Social Explorer and data.census.gov 
• Describe the source of your county level data

We'll meet again on December 4. If you have identified data, we will discuss how you can sort and categorize your data using Excel and create the map for your assignment.
