Find citation tools and learn how to cite government information.

General Information

Government information sources can be difficult to cite. Many of these sources do not have the same standard information that most scholarly sources have, such as an author, editor, and publisher or journal. This guide provides resources to help cite government information in APA, Chicago, and MLA styles. Under "General Citation Tools", see each style's page to find out where to look for government citation information in each style guide. "Government Citation Resources" includes links to citation guides from several government agencies.
