The Academy of Medical Educators (AoME) is the multiprofessional organisation for all those involved in medical education – the education and training of students and practitioners in medicine, dentistry and veterinary science. Established in 2006 and gaining charitable status in 2009, AoME exists to provide leadership, promote standards and support all those involved in the academic discipline and practice of medical education.

MedEdPORTAL is a MEDLINE-indexed, open-access journal of teaching and learning resources in the health professions published by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), in partnership with the American Dental Education Association. MedEdPORTAL publications are stand-alone, complete teaching or learning modules that have been implemented and evaluated with medical or dental trainees or practitioners.
MedEdPublish is a highly visible, open access, specialist practitioner e-journal that enables academics, teachers, clinicians, researchers and students to publish their experiences, views and research findings relating to teaching, learning and assessment in medical and health professions education. Articles are published on a continuous basis following editorial screening.
The Society of Directors of Research in Medical Education (SDRME) is a non-profit organization (501c3) dedicated to enhancing the quality of education in medical schools. It is composed of directors of units with responsibility for educational research, evaluation, and program development. The Society promotes: (a) research in medical education, (b) collaboration among its members and with other organizations, (c) professional development for its members and (d) the development of research units in medical education. The Society is an advocate for education research and scholarship in medicine and seeks to influence national research policy.
Thomas Jefferson University - The Center supports the SKMC faculty and administration in evaluating the knowledge, skills and professionalism of students throughout the Doctor of Medicine curriculum. Center researchers developed and maintain the Jefferson Longitudinal Study of Medical Education and instruments including the Jefferson Scale of Empathy and the Disease Staging severity classification which have been used in the US and internationally to measure medical education outcomes and physician competence, and document quality and cost of health care.
