Digital Humanities in Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia: Home

This guide is designed for scholars interested in the digital humanities field in Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia.

A Guide to Digital Humanities in Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia

As in many other parts of the world, digital humanities are becoming an increasingly significant and widespread approach to research in the humanities in Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia. Especially in the past few years, a large number of digital humanities centers have opened their doors in the area, many universities have incorporated digital humanities in their curricula and research agendas, and a multitude of fascinating collaborative projects have been launched.

This guide seeks to map the field of digital humanities in Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia, and to develop a better understanding of the ways in which digital humanities are interpreted and practiced in the region. It highlights some of the major digital humanities centers and networks in the area; gives examples of some of the many exciting projects pursued by these centers, past and present; and provides information on terminology, resources and publications, technologies, and major conferences. Rather than a comprehensive set of information, this guide is an ongoing project that will be continuously expanded, and will follow the major directions in which digital humanities research is moving in the area.
