The National Associations of the Deaf (NAD) is a civil rights organization of, by, and for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. NAD was established in 1880 and has sought to be an advocate for the community since then.

The World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) is an international non-governmental organization representing approximately 70 million Deaf people worldwide. WFD's top priorities priorities are Deaf people in developing countries; the right to sign language; and equal opportunity in all spheres of life, including access to education and information.

The USA Deaf Sports Federation is the national governing body of deaf sport organizations in the US. Its purpose is to regulate the rules of competition for affiliated organizations, facilitate the participation of US teams in international deaf competitions, and promote human rights and equity through sports.

The American Society for Deaf Children seeks to support diverse families with deaf children. Their mission is to encourage access to full access to language-rich environments, mentoring, advocacy, resources, and collaborative networks.
