This guide gathers some material that can be useful for k-12 teachers interested in using sport to teach the languages and cultures of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Basic Readings

  • LANIC Recreation in Latin America - Electronic resources on or about sport and recreation in different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • Zona Latina - On the top left of the screen you will find the section "Directories." There you will find numerous sources with sport content such as Newspapers, Radio, and Broadcast Television. Once in the nex webpage you may search by country, then by specific institution.
  • YouTube - (Search for sport related videos from particular countries and/or particular sports/events)
  • Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) - Free access to academic articles. Use keywords on specific countries + sport (i.e. Brazil Sport)
